About Kathi

Kathi is the Clear Choice

Commissioner Kathi Cozzone

Kathi Cozzone lives in Uwchlan Township, Chester County, with her husband, Victor, and their son, Victor.

After running on a platform of strategic planning in government, Kathi was sworn in as Chester County Commissioner in January 2008, an office she's won re-election for twice - in 2011 and 2015. Sine 2011, she's served as the Vice Chair of the Board.

She is especially proud that soon after taking office, Chester County implemented her recommendations, creating an award-winning strategic plan, still serving taxpayer and service clients ten years on.

Kathi also serves on the Chester County Workforce Development Board, developing policies and programs to assist the un- and underemployed.

Kathi is very active in the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania (CCAP), and currently serves as the First Vice President. She is a member of several committees, including Courts and Corrections.

Kathi also serves on two statewide advisory committees - the Statewide Geospatial Coordinating Board, which helps develop state policy for sharing data collected on land use and topographical features, and the Joint State Government Task Force Advisory Committee, where she researched voting technology and made recommendations for improvements.

Kathi is particularly proud of her time serving on the Board of Elections, where she fought against moving a polling place away from Lincoln University, a historically African-American institution, to a less accessible location that would have discouraged student turnout.

And since the Marcellus Shale Natural Gas boom began, Kathi has advocated for pipeline transparency and safety. She was appointed by Governor Wolf to serve as the Chair of the County Government Workgroup on the Pipeline Infrastructure Task Force, which issued recommendations she hopes to enact in Harrisburg.

Of considerable importance to Kathi is her work on CCAP's Behavioral Health Task Force, which aims to reduce the population of mentally ill inmates in county prisons, not only improving the lives of non-violent offenders and their families, but also saving taxpayers money.

As Chair of the Chester County Prison Board, Kathi has fostered and promoted diversion programs, such as the highly successful WRAP - Women's Re-Entry Assessment and Programming initiative, which helps women adjust to life after prison and avoid re-offending.

Kathi is the clear choice for Lieutenant Governor.
